The thing with Romance
No, I am not talking about romance in the intellectual level
of it. Rather it is plain romance; I am going to pen down a bit. :D It’s weird
since I’m not a romantic person at all or so as I feel. But that is the catch I
suppose. The conventional definition of Romance to me is mushy. Saying a
deliberate poetic line like, ‘beautiful eyes’ or ‘charming smile’ fits good in
the fairy tales of princess and princesses only. What is romance, if there is
no underlying mystery to it? A hidden, poetic appreciation behind a casual
smile? A metaphorical compliment behind
plain words or perhaps a consistent catalyst to intellectual stimuli rather
than a dull ‘I love you’? A candle light dinner in a posh restaurant is romantic
sometimes but a bucket of cheese popcorn in a cozy shack never loses its charm.
To me, a drive in limo feels an over-rated romantic gesture. A cool evening
walk down the beach or by the lake is always more romantic per any standard. A
quick text or a sudden call is what tingles every heart rather than dramatic,
confusing expressions.
Most of the relationships (especially marriages) lose their
charm as because; they miss out on the subtlety that keeps us alive. It’s
really the silliest things in life that is most romantic and not the
traditional mushy ideas that seem alluring at times.
Some people say, I tend to defy every conventional idea. But
honestly, life is really refreshing if you can move out from the stereotyping concepts
that create the stupid illusion of ruling the planet!

"It’s really the silliest things in life that is most romantic and not the traditional mushy ideas that seem alluring at times." - rightly said! Traditional ideas are like pre-defined rules, while the silliest things are like our self made rules :D
