The reservation crap! >_<

I’m strictly opposed to reservations that prevail all round our so-called secular country! And also the people who would genuinely blame the system but will never step back from enjoying its facilities! Pray why? Is it really so tough to believe something and practically doing something else? That is hypocrisy, right?

Just a few days back, I came to know, I belong to OBC category and I was asked if I would like to issue a certificate on that basis! (Since none of my other family members ever issued one!) Holy shit! I’m a strict ‘No’ and someone tells me, “you ashamed or what?”
Let me tell you dear, I’m not at all ashamed to belong to some OBC or stuff…it makes no difference to me. But I won’t issue any certificate because I’m strictly against this system. I don’t believe in discrimination based on caste, religion and even gender! I feel shitty that I can’t avoid the gender-based reservations that exist! But for all the other areas, no one can force me to compromise with my belief!

I’m stunned by people who round their eyes with raised eyebrows when I tell them I don’t want a certificate! But I can proudly declare that I’m never ever going to enjoy something that I don’t believe in!

I don’t understand this system. If the main objective of this rule is to mitigate backwardness of our society, to help people who are still left far behind, then that should be judged based on individual’s financial status and not on someone’s stupid surname or a shitty certificate that their grandfathers or great grand fathers might have gifted them!

Poor people get poorer. Deserving people are still helpless. Well-to-do people still enjoy given unnecessary advantages! Shouldn’t the focus shift to people who are actually needy? I’m intrigued by our system, seriously!

I know... they keep on tlkin abt eliminating the creamy layer.. but do they??? the truth is.. the creamy layer only gets the facilities.. not the people who actually needs it..

ya..but its not 'they' that we should blame..its 'us'! rules in governmental sectors change only when mass would produce a petition..but,say in that AIIMS case, number of people in support of this system is so huge..that the rule couldn't be changed! so, its mainly 'we' and most importantly, the people enjoying such facilities, who should get vocal about this!

whats the use?? we still live in a country where the birthday of BR Ambedkar is celebrated (the person introducing this system) and not Netaji...who deserves much more dan just a bday celebration...reservations are getting increased..nowadays muslims are also trying to get into the SC category...hehe...den wat...lastly da gen category will fall into minorities :D
the speaker selected is an SC, she cant even speak...she is selected just because she is an SC...(giving chance to so called backwards) whadda f**k!!!!!! what about the poor people who are the real minorities? much of the so called minorities are usually more rich dan the so called majorities...and still they are given the reservations...bullshit...and why will people oppose it? if u are in a system where 45% are enjoying the reservations or even more, then those 45% will support the system...ehh!!!! who will raise the voice?? u will get more to oppose dan to support u..

I agree to you up to some points... but I should rather stress on the points of disagreement:

1) I don't think there should be any reservations for the financially backward classes either. Look!! I'm not blessed with "a silver spoon in mouth" either, but what's my fault even if I was??? I mean there should not be any so called "reservations" at all...to anyone, financially backward ones should be provided with same access to resources [eg- books, tuition, schooling etc]as the richer ones... but a hell fucking NO!! for any kinda reservation, my dad is rich [say], but I busted my ass in order to crack some hotshot exam/job but a fellow, who is "meritorially"[m creatin a word here x)] much inferior than me, will get the chance because HIS DAD IS SOMEONE NOT SO RICH!!!! I mean what's this??? He is very welcome to enjoy the same facilities as mine!! welcome!!... everybody is welcome!!... come on! drag me to the same level and then lets have an equal evaluation... but mind it I DEMAND an EVALUATION... not any stupid "reservation"...its my right!!!!!!!

secondly, I am against any kinda gender based reservations also!! look!! I don't wanna sound like a chauvinist neither am I one!!! but I believe in equality... equality in all aspects... mind it! everything.... then y shud be there a train exclusively for the fairer sex during the peak hour??? while the uglier sex will hafta battle down their way to their destination?... chokher samne diye faka faka train chole jacche dekhte kamon lage??? chuck trains!!! is buses also?? Y ON EARTH SHUD THERE BE A SEAT CALLED "LADIES"... i DIN GET THESE... gayer jor kom, so jao gym-e jao... onek chele acche jader gayer jor meyeder theke kom....even amar-i... kano hobe eta??? jader pokkhe impossible eg: senior citizen, handicapped... tader jonye seat reservation is ok!!! but y for ladies?? even in autos!! the driver asks a boy to move from the back seats to front seat in order to accommodate a girl in place of him!!!! y ??? we don't have problems??? we aren't weak?? we aren't incompetent??? hotei pare to... so accrdng to me any kinda reservation, BE THAT ANY KIND,THEY SHOULD BE CHUCKED...apart from some for the handicapped and seniors [seat only]

@arpan: i agree there are very less people to support and raise voice against these issues...most of them are either selfish or non-chalant! but this is real shit!

@arnab: i totally agree with you! even i mentioned it on my post that i'm dead against the gender-based discrimination as well...like for the IIT-exam forms, women get to pay less..and all the other stuff u mentioned and many more! And yes! these shud be done with!

About the financial stuff, u got me wrong! i wanted poor people to be helped per resources only! but resources come with money..hence provide financial support, therefore they can get access to proper resources reqd for studies, etc. so if the govt. has to provide something extra for people, then it should be the 'poor' ones. hence financial evaluation is important!

but just one point: auto driver asking a boy to leave his back seat for a lady..well, that is okay! don't ask me why..probably you wont understand unless we have some female auto-drivers in town!
