never-ending tale II

[Okay! Could scribble a bit more to append it with the previous ‘never-ending-tale’ post! So here is the extension…. ;) ]

Santosh took a deep breath. He tried to think about the things he is feeling nowadays. Its strange but he feels somewhat withdrawn; a remarkable contradiction to his normal open-book attitude. There are moments he doesn’t feel like talking. It’s a weird feeling. Something comes in his mind…he frames the sentence…apprehends the expressions and the possible responses…then diverts his mind to something else, the other person fully unaware of the entire process. He argues in his mind, maybe sharing this tit-bit could have been fun, pleasant…but everything seems meaningless...not so important…not that necessary! He scolds himself for this apparent zombie nature…but the lazy laid back devil inside is unaffected. He feels like a stranger to himself. Vulnerable. He is known as someone who speaks his mind. But nowadays, his mind speaks so much…so much!! He feels disheveled. Lost. He is an unknown person to himself.

Vastness always mesmerized him. Firm mountains, wide green lashes, vast oceans…specifically, the endless factor fascinates him to no extent. He observed this fascination has become an obsession. The sleepless nights on the roof-top presents a dark heaven. He can just stare at the huge black veil around with nothing to see. Black is so majestic. He feels.!! Traveling by bus, he feels so detached from the crowd…people chattering, baby crying, someone shouting…all of these feels so unimportant. Sometimes, he just walks the street alone…not even thinking. Human intervention seems so unwelcome. (But isn’t he a social butterfly?! He gasps!) During his college hours, he often stares blankly out of the window. The green lonely field…three-four people strolling occasionally…it has an unsolvable mystery which draws him towards itself. An immediate escape. A loving runaway.

But who or what is he running from??! Or is he actually trying to escape??!
